B & W Gym is a hardcore gym that first opened in 1978 as a 2,000 square foot facility.  Since that time it has grown to 9,000 square feet that now contains over 100 pieces of equipment and 15,000 LBS. in weight.

Its owners are Dennis Brady and Sandi Brady.  Dennis is a juvenile probation officer for Cook County and is also a football coach at Lane Tech High School.  He has been a competitive lifter since 1978 and has won many titles and championships, including the 1996 World Drug Free Bench Press Championship.

Sandi is a Chicago Public School teacher and has been a competitive lifter since 1982.  Her top powerlifting achievement was a silver medal at the Women's World Championships in Australia.  She also has a bodybuilding background which includes the Miss Central USA Title.

B & W Gym has sponsored over 100 bodybuilding and powerlifting competitions since 1978, including numerous national and international competitions.  They were one of the leaders in the beginning of drug free competitions, putting on their first drug tested contest in 1983, and running only drug free contests since that time.

B & W Gym is more a labor of love than a business.  Its main goal has always been to provide a small, family type of facility for people who don't want to do the health club scene.  Many of its members have been there for over 15 years.
